How do you fully understand the demographics of different target audiences? You get into their shoes and simply become them. Research and development is par for the course. What creates the empathy and allure of a brand piece from one culture to another is a science that needs be investigated on a societal level.
The role of media arts and advertising in the community is, although ever-changing, a very strong influence on who we are as people within our social system. You will notice that especially in younger groups, they are starting to actually become the logos and icons of their favorite brands. From head to toe, the colors and branding icons of choice are displayed as proudly as peacock feathers. Sometimes it's fun, or edgy, creative, stark, quirky, urban, trendy, and often competitive. The logo fits with the human clique. That said, designers can also utilize this to their advantage by sending positive messages in their advertising: human rights, good causes, environmentalism, or simply treating others and different cultures with mutual respect. People will be attracted to a brand that reminds them of either who they are or what they want to be. Advertising can help direct them.
Of course, it is true that you need a good deal of experience and media savvy to hit the mark, but you can't be serious about business without a sense of humor and sense of knowledge. That could create work without soul….even with the most astute corporate companies. The journey to a branding solution is made up of many paths. In order to find the solution that reaches out to more than just the devoted demographics; but intrigues others to investigate your company as well, there is a need for an appreciation for the past and a desire for change. This integration creates advertisements that does not talk at people, but to them, and even with them on an illustrative level. This is a discipline carried out by both actors and animators, and also a guideline taken into consideration by Owl Vision Art; because we have been there.
